What Our Customers Have to Say

5 out of 5 Stars on 35 Reviews

Ghosthack is fantastic! What I love most about the packs is originality. Every sound you get is flawless, perfect and effective! The web is filled with millions of samples that sound the exact same. And if they sound boring, that means your project is going to sound boring. But with Ghosthack’s original and unique sounds, that transfers into your work and people can hear the difference!

Backstory of the Sounds of Q’taal

Q'taal hung like a dusty jewel in the inky blackness of space, its russet surface cracked and scarred by eons of turmoil. Rippling dunes of shifting sands stretched for countless miles, their serpentine patterns carved by the ceaseless winds that howled across the parched terrain.

Rising up from the desert floor, jagged mountains clawed at the bruised sky, their peaks wreathed in clouds of swirling dust. Deep canyons snaked between the towering monoliths, echoing with the ghostly whispers of those who had come before. For scattered among the austere landscape stood the remnants of a once mighty civilization - weathered stone columns, half-buried temples, and inscriptions in an alien tongue that defied translation.

But Q'taal was not entirely devoid of life. At certain points across the planet's vastness, great geysers of superheated vapor erupted from the parched ground, their scalding plumes instantly condensing into curtains of vapor that shrouded everything in misty veils. Where this moisture fell, verdant oases sprang forth - tangled jungles teeming with strange flora and elusive fauna that had adapted to thrive in these transient havens.

Most wondrous of all were the floating islands that drifted serenely above it all. Immense slabs of porous stone defying gravity, their undersides studded with glowing bioluminescent organisms that caused them to blaze brilliantly against the ruddy sky. What forces kept them aloft remained an enigma, yet another of Q'taal's beguiling mysteries.

It was here, on this harsh yet hauntingly beautiful world, that the lone explorer known only as The Traveler came to document his travels in the most unique of ways. Alighting on a rocky promontory, he closed his eyes and let the sounds of Q'taal wash over him - the keening winds, the subterranean rumblings, the faint echoes of life struggling to endure in a land utterly hostile to its existence.

As the cacophony wove itself into an otherworldly symphony, The Traveler raised his quantum instrument and began to play, his fingers dancing across its surfaces to capture the essence of this desolate yet wondrous place in a soundscape that would become the latest entry in his chronicle of the cosmos.

The haunting strains of The Traveler’s quantum instrument seemed to vibrate in harmony with the very world around him. Notes as parched as the desert rose in a mournful lament, undulating like the shifting dunes. Then came percussive bursts akin to the geysers' explosive eruptions, dense melodies blossoming forth that mirrored the fleeting jungles nurtured by their misty exhales.

Ethereal, keening tones painted visions of the listless floating islands, while intermittent silences echoed the barren emptiness and profound isolation that blanketed this unforgiving world. Yet underlying it all was a barely perceptible rhythm, reminiscent of an ancient heartbeat – a suggestion that Q'taal had not always been so desolate, that something grander had once endured here before withering away into dust and faded glories.

As The Traveler played, his surroundings seemed to come alive, resonating with the vibrations of his quantum instrument. The very stones shuddered, sending wave patterns into the sea of sand dunes that flowed in concentric rings outwards. Spores and pollen stirred from slumbering flora, catching the faint breezes to swirl in kaleidoscopic tides of color and fragrance. Deep below, something vast and incomprehensible shifted in restless slumber.

It was as if the music made from these conjured sounds held reality itself in thrall, bending the fundamental forces that governed this small cosmic reality with each crescendo and refrain. For that was the true gift and curse of The Traveler - to witness the very fabric of existence through his craft, but forever be a stranger in the worlds he documented, never belonging but eternally passing through. Sending sounds through time and space back home, to a distant planet called Earth.

Eventually, the last echoes of the haunting his composition faded, its final notes spiraling outwards to disperse amongst the stars themselves. With a weary pride, The Traveler gazed out over Q'taal's vastness one last time before activating the translocation beacon that would bear him onwards to his next destination in the never-ending chronicle.

As his form unraveled into facets of light and vanished from this uncaring plane, the only evidence he had ever existed was the cosmic concerto still ringing faintly through the largely silent deserts and canyons of Q'taal where the music of creation had once played.

Another Planet to Explore

I have many packs from Ghosthack and every time I see something I do not have (and it is on sale) without thinking I add it to my library. With this collection I was not expecting the range, depth and quality of the samples. Immediately one of my productions benefitted from three samples, which paid me back my investment. Then another short film on Atlantis came up and within a moment more samples from this library were bringing visuals to life.
